Every time we use pencil sharpener, we think we can get the pencil lead point like this:

Some time we get the point like this.

Or like this:

We use same machine and get difference pencil lead point. And wondering how can it be?

In order to find out what cause this happen. Our team makes a test to find out why. Here are 2 pencils in same brand and they are sharpened by same pencil sharpener.

The left one pencil lead point seems not a nice one. But the right one is nice. And we find this:

Himmoon pencil

Compare to the right one. The left pencil lead seems not in the center of the pencil.

To get more detail, we make out the drawing like this:

Still the left one pencil lead is not in the center of the pencil. Compare the right one pencil lead in the center.

With the guide line in blue, we can see this:

We mark out the difference as below.

0.24mm off center can cause such difference. The drawing tells us, if the pencil lead is not in the center of the pencil. The pencil lead point comes out from the same pencil sharpener will be difference.

Some of the pencils in our life are off center. Please ignore the cheap quality problem. There still many difference reasons can make pencil lead not in the center of the pencil. Like: Coating. temperature, weather, packing, transport  and etc.

Back to our question, in order to have a nice pencil lead point, we need a pencil which lead is in the center of the pencil. Then we can have nice pencil lead point.

HM1501 battery-operated pencil sharpener is a good choice. Nice long pencil lead point in each time you use.
